Thanks for taking the time to learn about our staff! I am Anthony Sigismondi, the Assistant Library Director here at Cedarburg Public Library. I first joined the team in September 2022 but have enjoyed a long and varied career in librarianship after earning my Masters in Library Information Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana - Champaign in 2011. Most recently, I served as the Adult Services Librarian at Plymouth Public Library from 2020 - 2022. Before moving over to the world of public libraries, I worked in academic libraries for over 8 years; first as the Information Literacy and Instruction Librarian at St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI from 2012-2016 and then as the main campus librarian at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus from 2016-2020.
While originally from the Chicago area, my family and I have lived in Wisconsin for over 10 years, having first moved to Green Bay in 2012…that’s right straight to Green Bay from Chicago (another Bear’s fan in exile). I love reading fiction of all kinds but particularly enjoy Speculative and Science Fiction as well as Magical Realism. As a former history major and instructor, I also appreciate U.S. Histories written for popular audiences and the occasional historical fiction novel. Aside from reading, my biggest passions include popular music, pretending I’m a competent guitar player, cooking, hiking, traveling to new cities or national parks, and watching superheroes TV or stand-up comedy. I am also an avid student of emerging technology. If you have a question about finding your next read or need guidance with the latest trends in library technology, come find me the next time you're at the library!
